Steven Sturgill Jr., a 36-year-old male from Circleville, Ohio, tragically lost his life on July 26, 2021, in McConnelsville, Ohio. His death was part of a double homicide that also claimed the life of Crystal Dawn Burchett, 39, also from Circleville. The bodies of both victims were discovered in the wooded area surrounding the Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area, where they had been camping. Preliminary autopsies revealed that both victims suffered gunshot wounds.
