On October 12, 2021, 39-year-old Yarsellay Sammie Sr., a male of African American ethnicity, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting on Montgomery Road near Route 22 and I-71 in Evanston, Cincinnati, OH. He was walking in a crosswalk when the driver of a four-door sedan sprayed multiple bullets at him. Despite being taken to UC Medical Center by a civilian, he was later pronounced dead.
