Diana Marie Rice, a 34-year-old woman from Masury, Ohio, tragically passed away on April 15, 2022, as a result of a senseless homicide at her home. Born on September 19, 1987, in Wadsworth, Ohio, Diana was a graduate of Garaway High School, Buckeye Career Center, and Mercer County Career Center. She worked as a medical office assistant with the Primary Health Network in Sharon and was known for her love of camping, singing, TikTok, and watching her boys play sports.
The incident occurred when Diana was shot in the neck while sitting in her car in the driveway. A man, whose name has not been released, was found shot in the head nearby. Investigators determined the incident to be a murder-suicide based on scene information and surveillance video. Diana's two children, who were home at the time, witnessed the tragic event.
The investigation revealed that Diana and the man had been involved in a verbal argument before the shooting. Neighbors reported that the couple had been fighting frequently, and it was believed that Diana no longer wanted to be with him. The man reportedly showed up at Diana's home, and the argument escalated, leading to the fatal shooting.
The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office ruled the man's death a suicide, while the Mercer County Coroner’s Office has yet to make a ruling on Diana's death, though it is expected to be ruled a homicide. The police have not released the name of the man involved, as they are still in the process of notifying his family.
Diana is remembered and cherished by her children, Austin and Logan Schaaf, her daughter Chloie Raber, her mother Christine Haas, her fathers Jeffery Angle, Timothy Stoufer, and Bill Haas, her fiancé Ryan Martin, Sr., her sisters Jessy Poland and Samantha Stoufer, her brothers Jeffery and Justin Mchenery and Billy Haas, and several other family members and friends.
