Samantha "Sam" Wheeler, a 14-year-old girl from Denver, North Carolina, tragically lost her life on February 6, 2011. Samantha, who was a student at Mill Creek Middle School, was found dead in her home along with her father, Rick Wheeler, and her mother, Angela Wheeler. The Catawba County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident was an apparent murder-suicide. Rick Wheeler, Samantha's father, is believed to have shot his wife and daughter before taking his own life.
