On November 6, 2013, a mass shooting occurred at Al's Place Barbershop on Detroit's east side, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including 40-year-old Kevin Perryman. The incident took place around 6 p.m. at the barbershop located on the 5000 block of East Seven Mile Road. Witnesses reported that the establishment was known for hosting gambling activities, which may have been a factor in the shooting.
