On a cold November night in 2013, the life of 22-year-old Demetria Mosley, an African-American female known to her loved ones as 'Poo-Poo,' was tragically cut short in a violent act that shook a Detroit west side neighborhood. A graduate of Osborne High School, Ms. Mosley was discovered on November 7, 2013, the victim of a triple homicide.
The bodies of Ms. Mosley, along with 32-year-old Damon Gipson and 35-year-old Quentin Cason, were found between 11:30 p.m.
and midnight inside a residence in the 3000 block of Philadelphia Street, between Dexter Boulevard and Wildemere Street. All three victims had been fatally shot. The scene was quickly secured by law enforcement, who classified the deaths as a triple shooting and launched an intensive investigation.
In the wake of the brutal killings, the community was left in shock and mourning.
