Victor Ray Mitchell, a 69-year-old man from Cerro Gordo, North Carolina, was found dead in his home on January 5, 2015. His death was the result of a gunshot wound, and his body was discovered a day after he was reported missing. The Columbus County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation into the murder, and an autopsy confirmed that Mitchell had died from a gunshot wound.
