Taylor Sorera Smith, a 14-year-old girl from Mount Holly, North Carolina, was tragically shot to death on April 3, 2017. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in River Street Park, located on N. River Street off of E. Charlotte Avenue. Taylor was found by officers on the ground with gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The park, typically filled with children, became the scene of a devastating crime that shocked the local community.
