On the freezing Sunday of January 18, 2015, the life of a young Black male named Johnathon Jordan came to a tragic and premature end in Detroit, Michigan. Having celebrated his nineteenth birthday only three days prior on January 15, Johnathon was just beginning his journey into adulthood when he died. His passing occurred during a particularly violent period in the city, adding his name to a growing list of young lives cut short in the community.
