Jamia Lashay Hill, a 25-year-old African American woman, was found dead in her car on June 10, 2019, in Lumberton, North Carolina. The police discovered her body near a street light in the 500 block of East 10th Street. According to the initial reports, Hill had suffered a gunshot wound, and an autopsy was scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted the Lumberton police in the investigation.
