Maurice Devell Kornegay, a 48-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on the night of November 5, 2019, in Newton Grove, North Carolina. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on the 400 block of Seven Mile Church Road. Authorities responded to the scene following reports of a gunshot and discovered Kornegay deceased from a gunshot wound.
