Brandon Carter, a 24-year-old male from Canton, North Carolina, tragically died on May 4, 2020, in Waynesville, NC. The Haywood County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at around 12:06 a.m. reporting suspicious activity at the entrance to the Shadow Woods subdivision on Ratcliff Cove Road. Shortly after, a second 911 call reported hearing a gunshot, and deputies found Brandon Carter lying on the side of the road with a fatal gunshot wound.
