Chauncy Kassim Montague, a 35-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 12, 2021, in Zebulon, North Carolina. Montague was found lying in the front yard of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The investigation revealed that Montague had been involved in an argument with his roommate, Travis Denawn Jordan, a 32-year-old African American male.
The altercation escalated, leading to the fatal shooting. Witnesses identified Jordan as the suspect, and he was apprehended by Raleigh police officers after he called 911 to inform them of his location.
Jordan was charged with murder and is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center without bond.
