Melito Armstrong Jr., a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 7, 2022, in Whitakers, North Carolina. The incident occurred at a house party attended by over 200 people. According to reports, an altercation broke out among two groups known to each other as the party was ending. This led to a shooting in which Melito Armstrong Jr. was shot in the chest and subsequently died. His mother confirmed that he had recently turned 17 in July.
