In the small town of Delhi, Louisiana, a tragic and violent series of events unfolded on November 20, 1909, resulting in the death of Town Marshal Walter G. Nicholas, a 29-year-old male. The day took a dark turn when the local lawman was killed in the line of duty, a loss that would soon be compounded by an act of swift and brutal mob justice.
