Robert Ball, aged 58, was killed on August 28, 2016, in Detroit, Michigan, while co-hosting a block party. Ball, a reserve officer for the Highland Park Police Department, was shot when a vehicle drove by, and an occupant opened fire, striking him in the stomach.
