The discovery of his body occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on the day of his death. Authorities located him at an apartment complex at 24290 W. Seven Mile Road on Detroit's west side, a location known at the time as the Country West Apartments. Investigators determined that Wiley had been the victim of a homicide, with reports indicating he had been murdered at the scene.
