A beloved school teacher is killed in her Marblehead, MA home
On November 25, 1950, Beryl Atherton, a 42-year-old elementary school teacher in Marblehead, Massachusetts, was brutally murdered in her home during a fierce storm. Atherton, who lived alone, was found strangled and her throat had been slashed in what investigators described as the sign of the cross.
