Zion Hutcherson, a 21-year-old African American woman from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was tragically killed on August 8, 2020, during a trail ride event in Roseland, Louisiana. Hutcherson, who was studying to become an X-ray technician and phlebotomist, attended the event with her sister. During the event, multiple gunmen opened fire into a large crowd, resulting in several injuries and Hutcherson's death. She was the only fatality in the incident, leaving behind her one-year-old daughter.
