In the early morning hours of May 2, 2008, the life of Daron Lee Ellison, a 29-year-old African-American man from Jamaica Plain, was tragically cut short. Responding to a call for a person shot at 19 Oakcrest Road in Boston, police discovered Ellison at the scene. He was pronounced deceased shortly after, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner would later officially rule his death a homicide.
