On May 28, 2008, 21-year-old Antonio Fernandes was fatally shot in a gang-related incident in Boston. The shooting, which took place in the South End, was part of a longstanding feud between rival groups in Dorchester's Cape Verdean community. Fernandes was shot multiple times while inside a vehicle, along with another victim, during an ambush.
