Andrew Urdiales, a former Marine, was responsible
for the deaths of at least eight women between 1986 and 1996. He was known for his brutal methods, often involving shooting and stabbing his victims. Huber's body showed signs of both gunshot wounds and stab wounds, consistent with Urdiales' modus operandi. Urdiales confessed to picking up Huber in Chicago, engaging in sexual activities with her, and then murdering her before disposing of her body in Wolf Lake.
The investigation into Huber's death was part of a larger effort to connect the dots between multiple murders across Illinois and California. Urdiales was eventually apprehended in 1997 and confessed to the murders, including that of Lynn Huber. His trial revealed a pattern of violence and a troubled past, including a history of mental illness and abuse.
