On the evening of January 29, 2013, the life of a 32-year-old African-American woman, Carly Jones, was tragically cut short in her Boston apartment. A friend, arriving to drop off Jones's daughter, made the grim discovery at the residence located at 28 Fawndale Road in the Roslindale neighborhood. Noticing the apartment door was open, the friend instructed the child to wait outside before entering to investigate.
