David Sankey, a 16-year-old African American male from Champaign, Illinois, tragically lost his life on August 28, 2018. David was a former student at Central High School and was also part of the READY program. On the night of his death, Champaign Police responded to a report of shots fired and found David with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Carle Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The community was left heartbroken by the loss of a young life, and his friends remembered ...
