Jermaine Ross, a 47-year-old African American man, was found dead on October 3, 2018, in his home in Cahokia, Illinois. Jermaine, a well-known neighborhood barber, was discovered by a friend who had come by for a haircut. The friend found the door slightly open and, upon entering, discovered Jermaine's decomposed body. Authorities determined that Jermaine had died from a single gunshot wound and estimated that he had been dead for three to four days before his body was found.
