On August 1, 2007, Eghosa Miaes, a 20-year-old resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was killed in a shooting incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Nanticoke Street. The shooting took place in the early hours of the morning, around 2:20 AM. Miaes’ death added to Baltimore's already alarming number of homicides that year, which had reached a total of 281 by the end of 2007.
