Matthew Sivells, a 26-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the afternoon of Sunday, August 26, 2007, in Baltimore, Maryland. The shooting occurred around 2:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of Cecil Avenue. Born on June 18, 1981, Matthew was known affectionately as “Barrel” to his friends and family. He had attended the Baltimore City Public School System and later pursued a career in welding through the Job Corps.
