African American male Ishmael Adams, 27, of Blue Island, Illinois, died on September 12, 2021.
He was one of two men who did not survive after a burst of gunfire in the pre-dawn hours; the Cook County Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity and age alongside the second man, 29 year old Darnell Brown, both listed as from Blue Island.
Just after midnight, at about 12:42 a.m., officers were sent to the area of 121st Place and Irving Avenue for reports of shots fired.
