In the quiet hours before dawn on November 27, 2021, police were called to the 1100 block of Elizabeth Court near Ingalls Avenue in Crest Hill, Illinois. There, officers found 29 year old Black male LeAndre T. Abbott, a Crest Hill resident, gravely wounded by gunfire. He was rushed to St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and by late morning his name and age had been confirmed, Leandre T. Abbott age 29, as investigators began piecing together the final moments of his night.
