Ajah Barnes, a 26-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on June 5, 2022, in Wheeling, Illinois. Barnes, an active-duty U.S. Navy member assigned to the Naval Station Great Lakes, was found deceased alongside Chief Hospital Corpsman Travis Stephens, 37, in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide.
