Maurice D. Hart Jr., a 27-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on August 7, 2022, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. while Maurice was standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Maurice was shot in the chest by an unknown assailant.
