On a tragic day in May of 1973, the quiet farming community of Donalsonville, Georgia, was forever scarred by a horrific crime that claimed the lives of six members of the Alday family. Among the victims was Mary Estelle Campbell Alday, a 26-year-old woman who, along with her husband and his family, fell victim to a group of escaped prisoners. The events of that day, May 14, 1973, unfolded as a burglary spiraled into a brutal massacre.
