A 33-year-old Black male named Devin Butler was fatally stabbed on July 5, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a married father of four, with a fifth child expected. Butler worked for a mortuary transport service, a job he took pride in, ensuring the respectful handling of the deceased.
On the evening of his death, Butler and a coworker had stopped at a store. After leaving, a man who they believe was also at the store, jumped in front of their vehicle and accused them of nearly hitting him. An argument ensued, and the man threw something at the van. When Butler got out to check for damage, he was stabbed in the chest. There was no physical altercation or yelling prior to the stabbing.
Baltimore City homicide detectives are investigating the murder and have released a photo of a man they believe has information that could help solve the case. They are asking for the public's help in identifying this individual. As of now, no arrests have been announced in connection with Devin Butler's death.
