In the spring of 2010, a family and a community in Baltimore, Maryland, were struck by a sudden and violent loss. Asia DeRoi Carter, a 37-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of March 15, 2010. The incident that claimed his life was a drive-by shooting that occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the 200 block of West 25th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 3, 1972, Carter had moved to Baltimore with his family in 1975.
