Kayla Lauren Garcia, an 11-year-old girl from Temple, Georgia, tragically lost her life on February 6, 2014. She was found dead alongside her 13-year-old brother, Daniel Garcia, in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The siblings were discovered in their home, having been shot by their father, 41-year-old Luis Garcia, who then took his own life. This devastating incident shocked the tight-knit community of Temple, as there were no prior indications of such violence.
