Curtis Pinckney, a 20-year-old African American male, was found dead on April 6, 2014, at Hambrick Elementary School in Stone Mountain, Georgia. His body was discovered early in the morning, and initial reports indicated that he had been shot. The DeKalb County police were called to the scene and began an investigation to determine whether the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or the result of foul play.
