In a tragic and violent turn of events, a young man lost his life during an altercation at a gas station in Riverdale, Georgia. The incident, which began as a physical fight, quickly escalated, leaving 21-year-old Ryan Delong Hill, a male, dead from gunshot wounds. The confrontation occurred on a Friday morning in November 2014, inside a Shell convenience store before spilling out into the parking lot.
The dispute involved Hill and another man, 24-year-old Taylor Shawn Boyer. According to authorities, both men drew weapons during their physical altercation. Witnesses reported that after the argument moved outside, Boyer shot Hill multiple times. One witness stated that after Hill fell to the ground, Boyer kicked him in the face before waiting for law enforcement to arrive. When police reached the scene, they found Hill deceased.
Following the incident, Clayton County police took Taylor Shawn Boyer into custody. He was initially charged with voluntary manslaughter and weapons offenses. Investigators also sought a female witness who was present during the altercation for questioning.
Several months later, in March 2015, the charges against Boyer were elevated. A Clayton County grand jury indicted him on more severe charges, including malice and felony murder, aggravated assault, and additional weapons charges. This decision indicated a progression in the legal proceedings, suggesting that the prosecution believed there was sufficient evidence to pursue a murder conviction.
