In the small town of Rhine, Georgia, a family dispute turned deadly late one Saturday night in November. Just before midnight on November 16, 2019, at a home located at 387 Mill Pond Road, a heated argument broke out between two brothers, Dennis Henry Reaves and Steven Frank Reaves. The verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical fight, culminating in a tragic and irreversible act.
Dennis Reaves, a 49-year-old male, was shot by his older brother during the confrontation.
When law enforcement from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office arrived at the residence, they found Dennis Reaves deceased at the scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was subsequently called in to assist with the death investigation.
The investigation into the shooting led to the prompt arrest of 61-year-old Steven Frank Reaves. He was taken into custody and charged with one count of Malice Murder, one count of Felony Murder, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes.
