The White male teenager was reported missing on October 7, 2021, after he left his home with a plan to meet an individual he knew only by the nickname 'Shrek,' whom he had connected with on Instagram. The purpose of their meeting, which was to take place at a Krispy Kreme in Stockbridge, was for Logan to purchase marijuana.
Concern grew when Logan did not return home.
His family's worst fears were realized a week later, on October 14, when Clayton County police discovered a body in a wooded area behind a residence on Saganaw Drive in Rex. The remains were soon identified as those of Logan Wade. An investigation revealed that the teenager had been shot to death. In the initial stages of the investigation, authorities disclosed that Logan had taken his father's gun with him when he went to meet 'Shrek.'
Following the discovery of Logan's body, the Clayton County Police Department announced that they had several promising leads in the case. They identified multiple persons of interest and stated that numerous witnesses were cooperating with the investigation.
