In the quiet town of Ellaville, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded that would forever alter the lives of one family. On October 26, 2021, 61-year-old Bobby Holbart Bridges, II, a U.S. Navy veteran and skilled craftsman, was found in his home on Georgia Highway 240 East with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. Emergency services were called to the residence, and Mr.
Bridges was rushed to Phoebe Sumter in Americus, but his life could not be saved.
Responding deputies from the Schley County Sheriff's Office discovered Mr. Bridges' wife, Juanita Bridges, also at the home. In a stunning turn of events, she handed over a handgun to the deputies and confessed to having shot her husband. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the inquiry into the shocking death of the beloved father and grandfather.
Following the initial investigation, Juanita Bridges, who was 57 years old at the time, was taken into custody and transported to the Schley County Sheriff's Office. The investigation led to her arrest on charges of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
