On a Sunday morning in November 2021, a distressing 911 call led authorities to a grim discovery on Interstate 16 in Twiggs County, Georgia. Twenty-four-year-old Tykeiria Moody of Riverdale was found unresponsive in her vehicle, having been shot multiple times. The call to emergency services was made by her boyfriend, 29-year-old Tevin Myles of Morrow, who admitted to shooting her during a heated argument as they were driving.
The couple was reportedly returning from a trip to Brunswick when the fatal altercation occurred. According to the Twiggs County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the scene near the Sgoda Road exit, around mile marker 12, to find Moody slumped under the steering wheel. She had sustained five gunshot wounds. Myles was taken into custody at the scene and subsequently charged with her murder.
In his account to investigators, Myles claimed that he had been asleep and woke up to find Moody pointing a gun at him. He alleged that a struggle for the weapon ensued, during which a shot was fired through the rear window of the car. He stated that he then gained control of the firearm and shot Moody. The investigation into the incident continued as Myles faced legal proceedings for the death of his girlfriend.
