Joyce Lavania Alston, aged 49, was killed on June 22, 2013, in Baltimore, Maryland, in a double homicide that also claimed the life of 20-year-old Gervonte Burgess. The incident occurred while both victims were in a car on the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Both Alston and Burgess were fatally shot while seated in the vehicle, and this attack took place during nighttime.
