In the small community of Chubbtown, just outside of Cedartown, Georgia, the holiday season of 2022 was irrevocably marred by tragedy. On December 23rd, Darnetha Chester Elliott, a 48-year-old African American woman, was fatally shot in an incident that sent ripples of shock and grief through the close-knit area. The violence erupted in the early afternoon, around 12:50 p.m., on Michael Boulevard, where what began as a domestic dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion.
