Guy Morrell Bradley, a game warden and deputy sheriff for Monroe County, Florida, was tragically killed on July 8, 1905, at the age of 35. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Bradley moved to Florida with his family at a young age. He was hired by the American Ornithologists' Union in 1902, at the request of the Florida Audubon Society, to protect the area's wading birds from hunters.
