William S. Hart, a 36-year-old officer with the Hallandale Beach Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 22, 1982. On that fateful night, Officer Hart was on duty when he encountered a man attempting to break into his van. In the line of duty, Hart confronted the suspect, which led to a violent altercation.
