On the evening of May 23, 2014, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Price was discovered at 2800 Baker Street, having been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another report of the incident stated that police were called around 9:40 p.m.
to the 1600-block of Gertrude Street where a man, identified as Gregory Price, had been shot in the head.
The circumstances surrounding Price's death were intertwined with another serious crime that had occurred just two days prior. On May 21, 2014, two men were abducted from a home in Columbia and taken to an abandoned row house on Baker Street in Baltimore, where they were beaten. One of the victims identified a man named Jared Price as a possible suspect. Following this lead, investigators discovered that Jared's brother, Gregory Price, was found deceased from an apparent homicide near that same abandoned row house just two days after the violent abduction.
An investigation into the kidnapping and assault case revealed crucial evidence on Gregory Price's recovered cell phone. Text messages between Gregory and his brother, Jared, from around the time of the attack included directions to the home of one of the victims. Furthermore, phone records showed a series of calls between Gregory Price's phone and a phone number registered to Adam Kentrell Richardson around the time of the crime. Richardson's DNA was also found at the scene of the abduction.
While Adam Kentrell Richardson was eventually convicted on multiple counts including armed robbery, kidnapping, and assault, and sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in the events of May 21, there have been no publicly released details regarding any arrests or suspects in the specific homicide of Gregory Price.
