Waundrell Jarvese Jerry, a 24-year-old resident of Live Oak, Florida, tragically lost his life on August 7, 2016. The incident occurred at the Live Oak Shrine Club, where a fight broke out between Jerry and two other individuals. A hired security guard intervened and escorted Jerry out of the club to his vehicle for his safety. However, as they were walking to the vehicle, they were confronted by Kenyon Dewayne Mitchell. According to reports, Mitchell raised a pistol and fired two shots, both of which struck Jerry. Despite the security guard's efforts to protect him, Jerry succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead at Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center. His body was subsequently sent to the Medical Examiners Office in Tallahassee for further examination.
Following the incident, a warrant was issued for Kenyon Dewayne Mitchell, who was identified as the shooter by witnesses and the security guard. Mitchell, a 27-year-old convicted felon, turned himself into the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office on August 12, 2016. He was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
