Michael Rackard, a 34-year-old African American man from Clearwater, FL, died on February 2, 2017, after being shot on January 28, 2017. The incident occurred at the apartment he shared with his roommate, La'Mel Johnson, at 124 N. Jefferson Ave. in Clearwater. The two men had an argument that escalated into a physical altercation, during which Johnson allegedly shot Rackard. Rackard was immediately taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
