DeQual Anthony Smiley, a 17-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost his life on May 12, 2017. The incident occurred at the Canopy Creek Apartments on Harts Road. According to reports, Smiley was shot in the head around 8:15 a.m. while outside the apartment complex. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found Smiley with life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
