The shooting also claimed the lives of his companions, 17-year-old Franklin Morris and 19-year-old Marquis Caldwell.
The incident unfolded just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Willow and Alhambra Avenues.
Police who were patrolling nearby heard the gunshots and discovered the three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the young men was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two, including Adams, were rushed to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. Authorities later reported that two of the victims were found to be in possession of handguns.
